Installation of the Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 All Terrain Tow Bar on a 2013 Jeep Wrangler

in our 2013 Jeep Wrangler, we'll be installing the Roadmaster Blackhawk 2 All-terrain tow bar, part # RN-422. We'll be assembling this tow bar onto the existing Roadmaster XL Baseplate Kit with removable arms, part #1432-1. Before we can install the tow bar onto the baseplate, we'll need to install the quick disconnector, baseplates, bar and brackets. We'll start by connecting the brackets directly to the removable mounting tabs from the baseplate. We'll take the bolt, go through the boltplate, then through the bracket, then through the baseplate tab. Securing with a flat washer, split-lock washer and a nut. We'll install two bolts per bracket. Once we install the hardware, we'll tighten it down finger-tight, enough so that the bracket is slightly removable on the tab. This will help with installing and lining up the quick disconnect bar. With both quick disconnect brackets installed on the baseplate tabs, we'll set the bar onto the tabs, lining it up so that the two brackets are even on the tabs, centering the quick disconnect baseplate bar. Once we have it centered, we can tighten it down. We'll tighten down one bolt on each side, and make sure that our bar can lift up and off the quick disconnect brackets nice and easily. Once we're comfortable knowing that our bar will install and remove easily, we'll complete tightening down the hardware. With all the hardware tightened down, we'll install the quick disconnect bar and secure it with the lynch pins provided. Now, we're ready to put our tow bar into the hitch of the tow vehicle. We'll slide the tow bar into the hitch and secure it with a pin or locking pin. Once we install the tow bar, we'll pull the vehicle up to the back of the tow vehicle, extend the tow bar into the vertical position and then swing it down toward our quick disconnect bar. We'll remove the roll pin, slide it into the quick disc connect bar, through the tow bar and back through the other side of the quick disconnect bar, securing it with the lynch pin. The lynch pin will go through the pre-drilled hole in the quick disc connect bar, through the roll pin. Next, we'll hook up our safety cables, going from our quick link to the tow vehicle. Next, we'll hook up our breakaway switch cable.Note: Videos are provided as a guide only. Refer to manufacturer installation instructions and specs for complete information.
